nightmares

here's a recommendation: don't listen to 'threads' by portishead, and then watch two hours of twin peaks before going to bed. it will not be a pleasant sleep.

with only two episodes of the wire left, i have been forced to look elsewhere for my tv-on-dvd watching. and also because i'm not very happy that they KILLED MY FAVORITE CHARACTER. i promise you if i get to the end of this series and bubbles is dead (he's my second favorite), hbo will be receiving a strongly-worded letter, i don't care if the show's already off the air. the benefit to jumping on the twin peaks bandwagon (15 years too late) is that i won't be constantly pausing it to ask dave "what just happened?" like i do with the wire. because no one knows.

weengs

dear buffalo wild wings,

why on earth would you decide to open in amherst, massachusetts? it is already the home of the greatest wings in all of western civilization. so great that you don't even have to say 'let's go to the hangar', just 'let's get wings'. anyone in the whole pioneer valley would understand what you meant. none of this 'bw3' nonsense like they say here in texas. (where is the third W in that abbreviation? where, i ask you?) the whole enterprise is unnecessary. go spread your buffalo sauce and giant-beer-tuesdays to those less fortunate; iowa perhaps, or a third-world country.

sincerely,
brooke m., who would really really like a dc-3 with honey barbecue, fries, and cold ketchup

i just called to say i love you

song of the week:

Stevie Wonder - Sir Duke

i've been playing it nonstop. as a sidenote, during my music theory placement test a few weeks ago i was trying very hard to 'hear' the chords i had to fill in.. and inexplicably 'walking on sunshine' pops into my head. there was no getting rid of it.

"ok, top five musical crimes perpetrated by stevie wonder in the eighties and nineties, go. SUBQUESTION, is it in fact unfair to criticize a formerly great artist for his latter-day sins. is it better to burn out than to fade away?"
